With tickets for TEDxTruro now sold out, it has been confirmed that live streaming will ensure that the event is accessible to as many people as possible.
Taking place on 27 October at Truro & Penwith College’s Truro campus, TEDxTruro’s theme is ‘Beyond Barriers’ and speakers are covering topics including robots, endurance, neurodiversity and inclusion.
TEDxTruro curator and co-licensee Mandy Reynolds said: “This is just our second TEDxTruro event and we have grown from an audience of 100 last year to 300 this year. But we didn’t want to stop there. We wanted to make sure that as many people as possible could share the day with us.
“I’m so pleased we can stream the event so that TEDx fans from Cornwall and beyond can enjoy our talks live. TED events started with the philosophy of ‘ideas worth spreading’ and we want to play our part by sharing the stories and ideas from our amazing speakers with as big an audience as possible.”
Fifteen speakers will give the talk of their lives at TEDxTruro, including Cornish robotics pioneer Will Jackson from Engineered Arts and his robot creation RoboThespian, award-winning Downs Syndrome blogger Hayley Goleniowska, author and sensory processing expert Joanna Grace, head of conservation at the University of Exeter Brendan Godley and the creator of the Man Engine Will Coleman.
Live streaming will be available throughout the event, which runs from 9.30am until 5pm. To view the live stream and see a full run down of the speakers, go to www.tedxtruro.com
